Meet Splodge

12wks and 4 days 'old' and he/she is already camera shy (although you can count fingers and thumb along the side of his/her so it's a little bit cute LOL) Today we had the bestest news we could have expected to have heard. Splodge is healthy, active (had the hiccups) and growing beautifully. We don't have the full NT results but it's the best we can expect from scan results (right down to the button nose) and we're breathing a little easier. :)

I didn't take the original of today's photo - it's technically a photo of a print out, but it's an image I didn't think I'd ever ever see... and it's beautiful and it's very precious to us... I don't think any other image I could have taken today would be any more stunning to us than this :)

6 and Out!!!

This was a once off shot... 3rd ball of the backyard cricket game today, I'd only just got my camera out and then this ball.... **wham** Aleks hit it over the roof, over the fence and into the grumpy next door neighbours yard (which ultimately means we lost the ball!!!) So no more ball = no more cricket + lots of laughs + Aleks bragging he is the best batsman in the family (today) **doh** he was the ONLY batsman in the family today LOL

It's over exposed (rather badly actually) but I kinda like the effect...

Aleks' New Hairstyle

Aleks got a new haircut today, he was so proud of it! It's a "surfer style" according to the hairdresser - shhhh but personally I can't see all that much difference LOL He was so pleased with it that he wanted to pose for ANOTHER photo (2nd in less than 2 weeks - somebody pinch me - this is surely not my camera shy boy!?!??!?!!)

Rocking Nappy

Today I received in the post a much longed for scrapbooking tool - an I-Rock!!!! I wanted to see how far I could push it's capabilities.. so decided to bling out one of Dommy's nappies!!! Dom LOVED it - he kept patting his sparkly butt hehehe

Dommy and Hat

Ever taken a photo and the minute you snapped it you just knew it was a perfect shot?? Well this was one of them :) I LOVE that feeling - especially when working with a 2 year old who wants to run rather than sit ROFL :)

This image has taken less than 25 minutes from being taken to processed to uploaded here :) It just fell together and I really love how it's turned out!!! It's my baby (well not so baby anymore) boy who has stolen one of daddy's hate. I put it on the right way but he didn't like that - and yes, he's a poser in front of a camera LOL

Almost Harvest

Our fruit trees are soooo close to having ripe fruit!! We're checking them daily (even in the rain today LOL) anxious to taste the first harvest of organic homegrown fruit!!!

Todays pic is of some ripening cherryplums that have an 8 legged neighbour ;) I think his web is about as overloaded as our fruit trees!!!

Kahli and Portia

Kahli has 'claimed' Portia to be her cat - you rarely see her without her in her arms when she's home... the poor cat LOL

I'm not happy with this pic, I wish I framed it differently - that was kind of hard to do though as her younger brother was trying to upstage her and get in every piccie I took LOL Kahli has always been naturally this pale, she's got very little pigment in her skin which means she can be hard to photograph... I guess there's plenty of time to improve with a further 358 days of the challenge ahead!!! :P

Today I took William outside to get a decent piccie of him - instead he wanted to play and show off - typical 10 year old I'm sure ;)

Hmmm this pic reminds me how much I REALLY need to fight the boys into the hairdresser to be 'neatened up" with a nice clip down ;)

Farewell Hugs

Today William's best friend moved interstate. Misha has been by William's side and vice versa since we moved to SA - they've been strong friends and it was such a shame to see him move away :( Mish was mucking around trying to plant a 'friendly' kiss and hug on Wil in this photo... I love the spontaneity of it... Two great friends having one last moment of fun together :)

I spent over 7 hours in the emergency room today after your little 'Splodge' gave us a HUGE scare... So today's photo is of my discharge report and those two words that have given me a HUGE amount of relief today "Viable Pregnancy" :) here's to the next 31 weeks - and no more drama's please!!!

I took individual pics of my 4 children at the beginning of last years 365, so may as well keep up the 'tradition' ;) This is Aleks, my eldest - a teenager in less than 6 months **sigh** where does the time go??? He's stubborn, quirky and usually hides from the camera so when he OFFERED to strike a pose today I jumped at the chance!!!!

Domenik has developed a HUGE sweet tooth over the Christmas period. He's taken to stealing everyone's lollies and claiming them as his own. Today we saw the end of ALL the sweet stashes in the house... Dommy took the last piece of course ;)

I only decided to do the photo a day challenge at the last minute. This spider I found hiding in our lemon tree - I was scratching around in the last light of day struggling to find something when I almost smashed through her web. It's not the most clearest of images, it's not the best aesthetically - basically it's all I could do to get an image in for the first day of the year and the challenge :) Plenty of room for improvement mwahahaha

Welcome

Well third time's a charm right? Here's hoping!! This is the third year I've embarked on a photo-a-day challenge.

2009 I made it to March. It fizzled after I lost a good friend unexpectedly :(

2010 I made it all the way to June - it fizzled just after we moved interstate and I was struggling with separation from all I knew and held familiar (well besides my direct family that is)

2011 I'm hoping that I can make it at least until August - where we will be blessed with a new familly member... Yes, we're expecting a new baby in August, so that will open up a whole new path of inspiration that I'm hoping will see me complete the challenge this year ;)

BUT for now... I'm starting this with a NEW AGENDA!!!! I'm not looking at this as a whole year project... It's going to be a monthly project... Smaller bites should hopefully allow me to reach the smaller targets so i can hit the big goal in the end... Will I make it?? Well past performance says now, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see :)
